Privacy Policy

What Improv Toolbox collects, and what it doesn't.

Last updated: 14 July 2026

The short version

  • No account or login. You identify yourself only if you choose to send a message.
  • Your settings and saved items stay on your device.
  • Usage analytics are anonymous and not used for ads or tracking.
  • Optional tips go through Apple or Google. We never see your card.
  • No data selling, no ads, no cross-app tracking.

No accounts

Improv Toolbox runs on your device. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no server keeping a record of what you do in the tools. Every tool works offline. Only the optional contact form sends the message you write to an external service.

What stays on your device

Your language choice, light or dark theme, favorite tools, and anything a tool generates live in your browser's local storage on the web, or in the app's local storage on mobile. This data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser or deleting the app erases it.

Anonymous usage analytics

On the website we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure page speed. They set no cookies and store no personal data. We see aggregate numbers, never individual people.

In the mobile app we use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics tool. It sends anonymous usage events such as app opens, with no device ID, no advertising ID, no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no long-term user identification. It tells us roughly how the app is used.

Purchases and tips

The mobile app includes an optional tip jar. Apple's App Store or Google Play take the payment, and RevenueCat validates and records the purchase. RevenueCat receives purchase history, store transaction details, product and price information, an anonymous app user ID for your install, and coarse store/device details such as country, locale, currency, and platform. We do not send RevenueCat your name, email, or any custom customer attributes. RevenueCat never receives your card number from us, and we never see your card. The website links to Buy Me a Coffee instead, which keeps its own privacy policy.

Messages you send us

The contact form is optional. On the website and in the iOS and Android apps, the name you provide, your email address, the selected topic, and your message are sent to Formspree so it can deliver the message to us and protect the form from spam. Formspree also receives technical request data such as your IP address and browser or app information. Free-plan submissions remain available in our Formspree dashboard for 30 days. We use this information only to read and reply to your message.

Service providers

  • Vercel: website hosting, anonymous traffic analytics, and page-speed measurement.
  • Aptabase: anonymous usage analytics in the mobile app.
  • RevenueCat: purchase history and receipt validation for in-app tips on mobile.
  • Formspree: delivery, spam protection, and temporary storage of messages sent through the contact form.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: app payment processing under their own policies.

Mobile app store disclosures

For App Store and Google Play privacy forms, the mobile app declares Usage Data / Product Interaction for Aptabase analytics and Purchases / Purchase History for RevenueCat in-app tips. If you choose to use the contact form, it also declares your name, email address, and message as data linked to you and used only for app functionality and support. We do not use this data for advertising, cross-app tracking, or data brokerage.

What we never do

We don't sell or rent your data. We don't run ads. We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't build a profile of you.

Your rights

Most app data stays on your device. To remove local data, clear your browser storage or uninstall the app. Anonymous Aptabase analytics cannot be tied back to you, so there is no individual analytics profile to export or delete. For contact messages or RevenueCat tip-purchase data, email us with enough detail to identify the record, and we will handle access or deletion where possible. Formspree, Apple, and Google may retain records under their own policies. If you have a request under the GDPR or a similar law, email us.

Children

Improv Toolbox is built for a general audience and does not require accounts. The optional contact form is not intended for children to submit personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Some store age ratings may reflect mild text prompts such as horror genre or dramatic themes.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We'll note major changes in the app or on the site.
